- The sapwood pinkish white or gray brown, rather well demarcated.

- Grain is reported to be straight to slightly interlocked.
- The wood is reported to be attractively figured.
- The wood has a fine and even texture.
- Dust may affect mucous membranes.
Workability:-

- Generally easy to work with hand or machine tools, though figured wood is much more prone to chipping and tearout in machining operations.
- Also, Moabi has a high silica content, and will rapidly dull cutting edges, especially tool steal.
- Turns, glues, and finishes well.
- Responds well to steam bending.
